How to Get the Best Identification Results

For photos: Take clear, well-lit images that show the entire specimen if possible. Close-ups of distinctive features can also help.

For trait filtering: Start with the most distinctive characteristics you observed, such as color pattern or body shape.

Note the habitat: Including information about where you observed the species (ocean, lake, river, etc.) can significantly improve identification accuracy.
